After graduating with my Early Childhood Teaching degree in 1984, my love for teaching in the kindergarten sector has continued to flourish over the years.
My long and rewarding career has allowed me to be part of the evolution of the early childhood sector, while continuing to grow and evolve alongside it.
Although I have many years’ worth of books, songs and activities to draw upon, I still find myself researching new and exciting ways to introduce learning experiences to children.

Throughout my career, I have gained experience across a variety of kindergarten settings; however, I have found that my philosophy and heart lie within the not-for-profit sector, where my passion for community and family engagement can remain at the heart of my work.
The saying, “It takes a village to raise a child,” is one I have experienced firsthand. I am incredibly proud to have raised six children of my own, four of whom have followed my love of education and become teachers themselves.
It is through these partnerships that I value the sharing of stories, advice, and the celebrations of achievements of both past and present children. It is this sense of community that allows our children to feel they belong.
Through my personal and professional experiences, I have come to deeply value the importance of providing children with this sense of a safe and secure educational program that is achievable, inclusive and, most importantly, fun.
I want children to fall in love with the process of learning because I believe that a lifelong love of learning keeps us curious, excited and open to new challenges and experiences.
By encouraging children to investigate, experiment and try new things, we support them to develop the confidence, curiosity and dispositions for learning that they can carry with them throughout all of life’s future adventures.
I am beyond proud of our team, children and community at Glen Oak Kindergarten. I take honour in the partnerships I have formed over my years with families, in which they have allowed me to share my knowledge and guidance within their parenting journey. Teaching their children has been an absolute pleasure, and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.
I completed my Diploma in Early Childhood Education in 2016 and have been part of the Glen Oak Kindergarten community since 2017.
In late of 2024, I was delighted to complete my Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education in 2024 and becoming an Early Childhood Teacher within our program the following year.
Glen Oak is a small, welcoming community that feels like a second home for many children. I am passionate about continuing this through warm and supportive environment where children feel confident to explore, learn and grow.
I love seeing their curiosity, creativity and unique personalities shine through each day. Children often surprise us with what they can do, and sometimes with the funny questions they come up with!
Reading stories is one of my favourite things to do with the children. Books are a wonderful way to connect, communicate and learn together.
Throughout my career I have incorporated books to extend on children’s emotional intelligence and wellbeing, as they help children understand, express and learn that all feelings are important and heard.
I also enjoy fostering children’s emotional wellbeing and learning through crafts with the children. It is wonderful to see their creativity and imagination come alive. You never know what kind of little masterpiece will appear!
Through this daily play and learning experiences, I believe we are building positive relationships with children and families. Supporting each child to grow in confidence, independence and a strong sense of belonging in the kinder community.
My journey in early childhood education began in 2013, when I entered the field while studying for my Certificate III.
Throughout my career, I have continued to pursue further education, professional learning and opportunities for growth, ultimately completing my Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching.
As an Early Childhood Teacher, I believe children learn in many ways through play, curiosity, exploration and strengths-based experiences.
Every child brings their own knowledge, interests, strengths and experiences to their kindergarten community and all learning and growth should be recognised and empowered.
I am passionate about creating an environment where every child feels safe, secure, and supported to learn, discover, and be celebrated for their unique identity, strengths, and goals.
I have been fortunate to find my place at Glen Oak Kindergarten, a small and personal community that strongly aligns with my professional values and teaching philosophy, and I am incredibly proud to be part of it.
I believe kindergarten is not only a place for children to learn and grow, but also a place where families can find a sense of community, build friendships and develop positive and meaningful relationships with their child’s education.
As educators, we are forever learning, reflecting and evolving alongside the children and families we work with. For me, this is one of the most rewarding parts of early childhood education; no year, no day, and no hour is ever quite the same.
My journey in early childhood education began in 2011 after completing my Certificate III in Children’s Services.
Throughout my career, I have developed my professional philosophy through working alongside kindergarten teachers, educators, and allied health professionals, both as an assistant educator and as an additional assistant supporting children with additional needs.
Through these experiences, I have come to value the importance of building meaningful and trusting relationships with each individual child.
I believe in supporting children to achieve their own developmental goals through play, encouraging them to explore, communicate, learn, and develop at their own pace.
My ongoing passion for early childhood education is driven by these meaningful daily interactions where learning is a shared and guided experience. It has been a pleasure to continue learning, growing, and achieving alongside the Glen Oak Kindergarten community since 2018.
